Article:
Marriage records are a touchy topic but may be necessary to be
addressed. Fortunately, it’s not difficult to investigate
people’s marriage records discreetly. Being public records,
they are actually obtainable free of charge from government
agencies tasked with the function. Anyone has the right to
conduct a public marriage record check on anybody as long as
it’s done through the proper channels.

Much can be learned about people from their marriage records.
The problem with free marriage records from government sources
is that they are segregated at state level. That means marriage
records documented in one state will not show up if the search
is conducted in another. In order to be 100% sure not to have
escapees, one would have to go through all the individual state
repositories one by one. Fortunately, much of this work can be
done electronically these days.

When protected information or those deemed as too sensitive or
against public interests are lodged in the marriage records,
they will be classified as Confidential Marriage Records. They
are still Free Marriage Records technically but will be a lot
more restrictive in accessibility and use. The bulk of free
marriage records fall into the category of Public Marriage
Records. The information that is found in them includes the
personal particulars of the couple, their parents and witnesses.
The name of the officiant of the marriage ceremony is also
stated in normal cases.

Free marriage records have many widespread uses. They are an
invaluable source of information for those in Genealogy and
other forms of historical studies involving people. Lawyers,
journalists and police use them to gather information. Separated
children can search and locate their biological parents with
free marriage records. Those in a romantic relationship often
check their partner's marital background by retrieving their
marriage records especially when wedding bells are round the
corner.

There are different possible ways to request free marriage
records. Most public offices tasked with this service will
accept write-in, walk-in, telephone and faxed requests.
Increasingly, the online option is also becoming available. It
is possible too to obtain free marriage records from
non-government sources but there are usually strings attached.
These are mostly commercial information providers and the good
thing about them is that on top of government sources, they have
the means to also tap into private and proprietary databases.
Competition is keen, and that drives up their standards and
value for money.

Free is a term that is used quite carelessly. Many sites mean by "free" only that you won't have to shell out any cash. But some websites use the term in misleading ways. For example, many websites will offer "free stuff" that turns out to actually be useless discounts - i.e. spending $100 and getting a $10 reward. While you technically got some "free stuff," in this case 10 bucks, you were forced to do something that you probably would rather not have done to get it. To get this particular "free" item, you would have to spend almost $300.

Know the Right Places to Look: Knowing the right place to look is the best way to get all sorts of free stuff. You need to be able to tell the difference between something that is free and something that comes with strings attached. What do I mean by strings attached?...continued..

Amazingly, on some sites, you are required to pay a fee to receive the free items. No matter what, nothing is really free.

Truly free stuff does not exist, in essence. There is always a cost for most items, but as long as you do not give any CASH, then we will consider it free for all intense purposes. You will end up either referring a friend, filling out a survey, or, worst of all, BUYING something. In my opinion, the moment that you must make a purchase you are no longer dealing with a free offer, but that is a topic for another article. What you really want is a single site where you can get all your free stuff online.

What is available when it comes to free stuff you ask? If you go to the right website, you can get about everything you can buy at a store. You can get free stuff for teachers, free scrapbooking stuff, free Christian stuff, free baby stuff, free wedding stuff, and even free special occasion stuff, to name just a few. And also free iPods, yes you heard that right – FREE.

So, how can I get all this free stuff you ask? You may be wondering if you have been missing out on getting free stuff. Or, perhaps even more likely, you are wondering, "What's the catch?"; well, I am going to explain it all to you.

You have three options. One – you can take part in promotions and offers, two – fill out those forever long surveys or three – refer friends that you think would do it. After the required amount of friends have participated, you will receive your items. It might take some time for a person to refer friends, as they should be convinced, and hope that they agree to participate in a promotion, which the individual wanted to avoid.

You may not be okay with this. You may not like that very much. More than likely, your friends will now be bombarded with spam email, junk mail and other unwanted offerings, all courtesy of you. Do you really want to do this without asking your friends first?

If you make up your mind to take a survey, you could spend up to an hour on just a single survey. Get ready to let out a lot of personal information; what food you consume, how you eat that food, the way in which you wash you hands, and even which way you like the toilet paper roll. You will be forced to divulge a great deal of your personal information.

There are many merchants who, whether online or in a real store, are more than happy to give out free stuff if you visit their store or send in your address. There are times that you only have to pay the shipping to receive your item. The theory here is that if you try it and like it, you'll go out and buy it. Sometimes they are giving you things to make room for new inventory.

These offers never last long, and by the time you hear of them, they are usually over. In order to benefit from the offer, one has to find out about it in time. This can be a daunting task for anyone hunting for freebies. Joining a group and sharing your findings is your best bet. I am on a hunt to live entirely free, so I have nothing to do but look for these deals all day.

I am obsessed with getting free stuff, and have been searching high and low now for several days, trying to figure out how to obtain free stuff on the internet. I have realized that it is not as easy as going to a internet search engine and entering the word "free stuff". Part of the problem, is that I am only interested in truly free stuff. Free stuff such as free samples, free memberships, free image hosting, free car rentals, free airline tickets, free subscriptions, free food and free travel. So, my internet search allowed me to find several websites which purport to offer free stuff, but actually are nothing more than afiliate marketing sites who use a bait and switch method of offering something for free, but only after you have purchased another item. This is not a free item, it is merely just a discount. I only want free items, so these types of promotions do not fit my criteria.

So now you must be asking me then, "where is the best place to find free stuff on the internet?"....continued...

First, I must offer an explenation to you on why companies give away free stuff, and this may help you gear up a campaign to collect as much free stuff as possible.

Most free stuff given away by businesses and marketing companies are solely used as promotions for products and services, which they want you, the consumer, to buy at a later date. When these businesses give away their products through samples, they usually will ask for your mailing information and/or e-mail address. This is so they can promote other merchandise to you through these means.

Now back to "where is the best place possible to find free stuff." The internet has a wealth of information on obtaining free stuff and a collection of websites that are somewhat expert in providing links to mrchandisers who are offering free stuff. I will leave it to you to research which ones are best for your needs, based upon their registration requirements, applicable surveys or contest which you may have to participate in.

OK, today I located a website which allows you to obtain free magazine subscriptions, and I really like the titles offered, but not necessarily happy with the marketing ploy they convey. The website is titled all-freemagazines.

And as the title says, most (but not all) of the magazines obtainable there are available on some type of promotional offer, such as get a few free volumes, up to full 1 year subscriptions. In trade, you have to....(continued) register your personal information and more than likely fill out a long survey, which will average about 10 – 15 minutes to complete, if you will it out completely. I just found the site and I am going to register today for several trade magazines. This is a viable source of reading material, if you don’t mind answering a few questions for the marketers.

I would suggest you register a disposable e-mail address, like one at hotmail, yahoo or gmail because the spam you are going to received from these can be relentless. If you don’t know how to register one of the mail accounts for free then go downstairs, get your 3 year-old grandson and ask him to show you how. Me, I don’t mind letting the spam filter handle most of the deluge of communication that may come from getting these offers and deleting a few strays that beat the spam filter, just as long as the price I get the merchandise for is free. Time is not necessarily money in my Universe.

Ok, go and check it out and get more education on a topic through getting one of these free subscriptions. This could be an opportunity to lock up a magazine about growing azaleas, cooking red meat, traveling to Turkey or any other obscure fantasy you have been hiding from the folks you live with.

I started this blog on 06/18/2008, with the intention of chronicling my exploits as I scour the world in search of free items. But, in my research of how to start and maintain a blog to detail this journey, I accidentally came across the best lesson of all: Information is and will always be free, as long as one does not mind asking questions and investigating sources to obtain it. Blogging, for what it is worth, was a term coined after the development of the World Wide Web (WWW) by Al Gore no doubt, as a way for various authors to create an electronic journal and share somewhat insightful commentary on topics of social relevance and an assortment of personal musings.

Blogging, however, has now developed into so much more than that and at the present has become a prevailing source of information and amusement, in addition to also becoming a source of income for a select few people. Creating a blog is easy. Conversely though, supporting the blog by filling it with relevant, useful, witty, funny, intuitive information on a regular basis is another thing.

This, I have discovered, is not so easy. I read somewhere the other day that over 200,000 new blogs come into existence every day. I wonder how many of them receive more than 1 post a month, or how many are actually deleted each day. I know that I have read enough of them now to know that even though some blogs are great, some are just plain crap.

So, as I build my free enterprise, I will begin to outline my daily task and any information I found about creating, building, maintaining and nurturing a blog. In short, writing about not only information on getting free stuff, but also reviewing any free information or sources I have found on managing blogs and enhancing my journal. So far, here is what I have found about creating and managing a blog and the steps I have taken:

1. Selected a blog platform. I chose blogger.com because it is free, period. I used wordpress.com and the interface was really sweet, but the free version does not allow any ads, therefore it can go to hell. I read several blogs about blog creation and it appears that you can find camps that love different platforms. But, like most things, you need to figure out what you need and just get started.

2. Select a blog template. Blogger has a lot of templates, but they just look lame and overused. I just reviewed several blogs with I found to be aesthetically pleasing and tried to duplicate their ideas on content layout. Then, I searched the internet for free templates that I could use to change the stock blogger template. I experimented with over 8 different templates before I settled on one. You should have some .xml or .html skill to modify the template, so if you don’t, get a free tutorial on .xml or .html and educate yourself. There is no need to go and buy any book and blogging or web design. Use the free information available like I did.

3. Create a blog topic. Like a book, a blog must have a plot. Create a plot which commands attention and compels the reader to want to read more.

4. Start blogging. This is the point of it all, correct? And don’t worry about making money right away. Get a good template, build good content and make it look appealing and hopefully, with the proper advertising, they will come. (HA, HA).
