Free Time Management tips that will allow you to accomplish more in less time

After one full week of working on this blog on how to get free stuff, I have reviewed no less than 500 different websites and blogs to get a feel for functionality and content. Some of the sites I visited were great. Some were downright embarrassing. Many of these websites had broken links, no clear direction, useless information, poor design and a cluttered interface.

In review, I assume that many of these people are the victims of poor time management and lack of website or blog development education. I have been successful at working hard on creating a daily task list, which helps me to stay focused and create responsible time management goals. The internet can be very distracting and I would suggest following this outline to manage your time properly when developing a website or blog, and I guarantee this will allow you to get more done in less time.

1. Make Time Management a priority. Before you touch your computer in the morning, have a clear set of goals you want to accomplish in the allotted time you have available. I begin by writing down the goal I have for each day, and I always try to be reasonable. Use a free software application to list your task for archive purposes.

2. Stay away from idle web browsing. This is a major time killer. Many companies have blocked internet access and with good reason. People browse and browse and browse the internet endlessly. And with good reason you see, because the internet is very entertaining. But it will demolish any goals you have for time management if the time is not allotted properly. To ensure you meet your time management goals you must reserve yourself from aimless web browsing until your daily task are complete. I allot a specified amount of time for web browsing and work really hard to stick to that goal.

3. Time is your friend. Set time limits to create appropriate Time Management. For example, allow yourself a set period of time to complete certain tasks and stick to it. By setting a goal of accomplishing several tasks each day within a certain time, you will work more diligently to complete the task and focus and the intended result.

4. Hold unfinished items for the following day, but be leery of the “forward day” syndrome. Those inflicted with this disease spend a lot of time creating goals which cannot be accomplished in allotted time frames, and merely move the project to the following day. This is extremely unhealthy as it can increase stress levels, and defeats time management goals. The ultimate goal of appropriate time management is that it creates the time you need to stay organized and complete a variety of tasks. If you are holding tasks day after day without completing them, then you are not managing your time appropriately. Change your goals into small tasks and adjust your time appropriately.

At the end of each day, review your list, change priorities if necessary and reflect on your daily successes. Time management can be easy if you work at it every day.
